“Jobs fill your pocket, but adventures fill your soul.”

– Jamie Lyn Beatty.

You are likely following my blog because of my modern farmhouse, but with today being National Shop For Travel Day , I couldn’t help but talk about traveling.

I love to travel. Having lived abroad twice (once in Barcelona and once in Italy), there’s something about traveling that makes me long for more. The experiences, being out of your comfort zone, the friends you meet, the new places you see… It’s all life changing.

While our family hasn’t done much traveling this past year as we were saving to build our house. Now it’s time for us to start saving again to go explore. There are so many places that I still long to see… I’ll let you in on one of my secrets though… We rarely ever pay for an airplane ticket, and this saves us so much money that we can then put towards our hotel and fun while traveling.

Airline Miles For Travel

I am a huge fan of airline miles. With several travel reward cards in my wallet, I very strategically use them to accumulate points for where we want to travel. While some people are afraid of credit cards for the fear of debt, I have never carried a balance and I use my credit card more like a debit card. I do this so that I can earn miles to go where I want.

My favorite travel credit cards currently are the U.S. Bank FlexPerks Travel Credit Card, Bank of America Alaska Air Travel Credit Card and the Chase Southwest Credit Card. These 3 credit cards have saved me thousands of dollars (this is not an ad) over the years and they have allowed me and my family to see so many incredible places around the world! Feel free to message me if you want to know more about how I use these cards to travel for free.

Do you have any travel tips?

Happy Travel Tuesday my friends. I’ll be sitting here drinking my coffee and dreaming of where I want to travel next 😉
